In Isaiah 2:5–22 we see both the near and future fulfillment of the Day of Yahweh: God’s judgment upon Judah and Israel for forsaking Yahweh and violating the Mosaic Covenant, and the future worldwide judgment that will humble all human pride, idolatry, and rebellion. Isaiah warns that every false source of security, (wealth, military power, human wisdom, and idols) will ultimately collapse before the splendor and majesty of Yahweh. In the end, Yahweh alone will be exalted, and the only true refuge will be found in the coming King, Jesus Christ.
