11/19/2023 – Galatians Bible Study – Tim Brown -Paul is flabbergasted that the Galatians have deserted the true gospel.They were adding the law of Moses to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was the teaching of the Judaizers, the Jewish-Christian legalistsThey wanted to make Gentiles become Jews before they could become Christians.They wanted to add works of the law on top of faith in Jesus Christ as the basis for salvation.The Galatians were betraying their allegiance to Jesus Christ and going over to the other side. Paul says anyone who preaches any other gospel is, to put it literally, “anathema.” To be anathema is to be under the divine curse. Anyone who teaches another gospel is subject to the wrath and curse of God.
