Work is a God-ordained and noble part of life. Some in the Thessalonians church had refused to follow Paul’s example & exhortation and instead were living as idle busybodies, causing trouble in various ways. After several warnings, Paul gives the church directions for how to deal with those in the body who would not repent of their sin. These directions apply not just to the idle, but to anyone in the church who is walking in unrepentant sin.
