In this study we take up John’s third letter, a personal note to his friend Gaius about faithfulness, hospitality, and leadership in the church. John commends Gaius for walking in the truth and supporting those who labor for the name of Christ, while confronting Diotrephes, whose love of preeminence harmed the church. Across the letter he sets godly and ungodly examples side by side and calls believers to imitate what is good rather than what is evil.
